1. What is Earthquake?
A: A sudden and violent shaking of the ground, sometimes causing great destruction, as a result of movements within the earth's crust
2. Types of Earthquake.
A: Tectonic Earthquake - It occurs when the tectonic plates under the earth's crust collide.
Volcanic Earthquake - It occurs when a volcano erupt and releases energy that move the earth's crust.
Landslip - the sliding of a large mass of rock material or soil down the side of a mountain or cliff that
releases energy that can shake the ground.
3. Causes of Earthquake.
A: caused by faulting, a sudden lateral or vertical movement of rock along a rupture on a surface.
4. Differentiate focus and epicenter.
A: Focus is the earthquake's underground point of origin while epicenter is directly above the focus and it is what we feel.
5. Differentiate foreshock and aftershock.
A: The foreshock occurs before the earthquake while the aftershock occurs after the earthquake.
6. What is seismograph?
A: An instrument that measures and records details of earthquakes, such as force and duration.
7. Differentiate magnitude and intensity.
A: Magnitude is the energy released by an earthquake while intensity is the strength of the earthquake.
8. Differentiate Richter scale and Rossi Forel scale.
A: Richter scale measures the energy released by the earthquake or magnitude while the Rossi Forel scale measures the intensity of an earthquake.
9.Safety precaution before/during/after earthquake.
A: Before Earthquake
- Place large or heavy objects on the lower shelves
- Place the chemicals on the lower shelves to avoid chemical leaks.
- Check the hanging objects if it is attached properly.
- Prepare an earthquake kit.
During Earthquake
- Drop,cover and hold on.Get under a table or bench,hold on to one of the legs and close your eyes.
- Get away from light post and trees.
- Seek for an open field where you can protect yourself.
After Earthquake
- Be prepared for aftershocks.
- Stay away from damaged buildings.
- When inside a building, evacuate the building after the shaking stops.

ITCZ (Intertropical Convergence Zone)
1. What I did was to study about the ITCZ and other lessons that are connected
about the ITCZ.
2. I learned that the ITCZ is known “doldrums” by sailors.
3. I can apply my learning to my daily life when watching weather forecast and said there is an ITCZ, I can prepare myself and my family if there is a chance that it can generate Tropical Depression.
Trivia:
-The ITCZ appears as a band of clouds, usually thunderstorms that circle the globe near the equator.
-In the Northern Hemisphere, the trade winds move in a southwestern direction from the northeast, while in the Southern Hemisphere, they move northwestward from the southeast.
-ITCZ can generate Tropical Depression.
-ITCZ brings convectional thunderstorms form and precipitation.

Tropical Depression
1. What I did was to study about the Tropical Depression
and other things has connection with tropical depression.
2. I learned how to identify if there is tropical
depression and identify them by their intensity.
- Tropical Depression - an organized system of clouds and thunderstorms with a defined, closed surface circulation and maximum sustained winds of less than 34 knots (39 mph). It has no eye.
- Tropical Storm - an organized system of strong thunderstorms with a defined surface circulation and maximum sustained winds between 34 knots (39 mph) and 64 knots (74 mph). The eye is not usually present.
- Hurricane or Typhoon - a system with sustained winds of at least 34 meters per second or 74 miles per hour (119 km/h). The eye is often visible and it is surrounded by eyewall.
